Sponsors: Del. Norton, Eleanor Holmes [D-DC-At Large]
Target Audience
Population: Women who worked on the home front during World War II
Estimated Size: 18000000
- This bill indirectly impacts women who worked on the home front during World War II by recognizing their contributions.
- Family members and descendants of these women may feel a direct emotional or cultural connection to this memorial.
- The general public and visitors to Washington D.C. will have increased awareness of women's roles during World War II.
- Approximately 18 million women were in the workforce by the end of World War II, many on the home front, although not all their jobs were homefront specific.
Reasoning
- The policy in question concerns a commemorative work rather than a policy with direct financial or service impacts.
- The policy primarily affects the emotional and cultural recognition of contributions by women who worked on the home front during World War II.
- Since there is no financial or tangible benefit directly provided by this bill, the impact is largely symbolic and varies based on personal connections to the subject.
- The population affected will primarily include descendants or those with historical interests; thus, the direct impact on wellbeing is generally low and indirect.
- Those with personal stories or connections to the historical context may have a higher emotional response.
